Can you believe it’s June already? Wow…surely the fastest Spring ever. With the end of May comes a close to my May Dog Pottery Giveaway. And the winner of last month’s prize is Wendy S. Congratulations to Wendy!!!! She will be receiving her dog breed sugar bowl as soon as I hear which breed she would like.
I’m working on getting June’s Giveaway put together and should be up by tomorrow.
Hello! My December Dog Pottery Giveway is up and running. It ends December 31st, so the prize will not arrive to the winner in time for Christmas, but it will make a nice little gift for after the Holidays.
I will be giving away a dog breed sugar bowl and dog breed creamer this month. These are great items to use for their intended purposes but are also fun ways to store useful objects like cotton balls, cotton swabs, make-up brushes, training treats, spare change, etc…

Already July 10th? How’s that possible? Anyway, I hope you’re enjoying summer, and, for those of you experiencing triple-digit heat, I hope relief comes soon.
As for the June giveaway, the prize winner is Anita L – Congratulations!!! Anita will be receiving a dog breed sugar bowl and dog breed creamer. This is a great little set for your counter, kitchen or bathroom – I use my sugar bowl to hold cotton balls and the creamer to hold makeup brushes.
Check back to tomorrow because I’ll be posting the details of my July giveaway.
Enter to win a dog breed sugar bowl and creamer in my June prize drawing (mug not included). This is a very popular set and would be a great gift for the dog lover in your life, especially if that dog lover is you 🙂
Each dog breed sugar bowl and creamer is made here in my studio in small batches and with plenty of love. It’s still fun, after all these years, to open the kiln after a firing and see the many dogs staring up at me.
Click the big red button to be taken to the entry page. Remember, the more you share this contest, the better your chances of winning. Good luck!!
In other news, my website is off maintenace mode and is functional, though always a work in progress. My daughter, who is studying graphic design, did a product shoot in our kitchen and one of her pictures is on the homepage – check it out.
Hello. I meant to write this post much earlier but was derailed by some emergency kiln repairs which ate up the mid-afternoon. I believe the problem is fixed and will find out when I fire my glazed pottery load tomorrow. On to the contest…
The November prize will be a dog breed sugar bowl and dog breed creamer (similar to those pictured above) and the winner will choose from over 40 of my current dog designs. The sugar bowl and creamer are some of my most popular items and would be a great gift for Christmas for the dog lover in your life – assuming you would want to part with them should you win 🙂
The contest works as follows: click the link below and enter your name and email. You’ll then be given opportunities to increase your chances of winning by sharing the contest with your friends, i.e., you get more entries when you share on social media and again if your friend (or friends) enter the contest.
If you are beginning to think about your holiday shopping, and are looking for a unique gift for the dog lover in your life, I may have the answer for you. I have added my dog breed sugar bowls to my website, www.shepherds-grove.com, and have been busy making my blank stoneware pieces to keep up with demand. This is a really great piece to use daily. The sugar bowl will obviously hold sugar but it’s also a nice size for cotton balls, q-tips, change, hard candies, and other small items.
Over the last year or so I really came to dislike my website, to the point that I just didn’t want to do anything to it – even if I added new products, it still wouldn’t look nice. And because I didn’t like how it looked, I really did not want to promote it – I figured why send new customers to an ugly website? I was about to scrap the whole thing and switch to a different ecommerce platform when I called Bigcommerce (my current platform) and expressed my frustrations with my site. I’m so glad I called and so glad I got the customer care person I did. He said “why don’t you just change templates?” He then proceeded to help me see what different templates would look like with my current products. He stayed on the phone with me until all my questions were answered. I’ve always admired the customer service that I’ve received from Big Commerce these last 6 years – gosh, it sounds like a plug for Big Commerce. But really, they’re great.
My new website (shown above) is cleaner and less cluttered and because of this, some things have been moved around a bit. The blog and things like the “about us” page and contact info are now at the bottom where they detract less from the purpose of the store. Just scroll down and they’ll magically appear. I love magic!
I added a new product recently – dog breed sauce bowls. And this week I’ll be adding dog breed creamers and dog breed sugar bowls. I have several other pottery shapes to add after that such as 6″ plates, 8″ plates, dog treat jars, and dog food bowls. Like my dog breed mugs, these pottery shapes are handmade here in my studio, in Eureka, CA. All of these items can be ordered now, even though they are not on the website. Just shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what you’re interested in.
Go ahead, have a look at the new Shepherds Grove website and feel free to let me know what you think – I’m open to any and all constructive criticism 🙂
